Christmas at Pangandaran (2009)

Like most tropical dweller, i always wanted to have a snowy Christmas and doesn't really enjoy too much sun. But instead of snowy, i enjoyed a sunny (but strangely cloudy) Christmas.

I went to Pangandaran with my family, a beautiful beach in southern West Java.
This beach is one of my favorite for it's quite clean (trash is an issue here in Indonesia), coral free beach , fine sand, tosca-colored water on sunny days and big waves :). It's really nice to just sit in the water, and let the waves breaks at your back.

My body got really tanned from this holiday (2 - 3 shade darker, i think T_T), but not my face.
I wore a broad spectrum sunscreen on my face (thanks to Paula Begoun) :)

Back to my photos, because we had strange weather there, cloudy but sunny, so I made all my photos to B/W.

my nef confusion...

So i'm having confusion about how to edit my nef (raw) files.
I'm using Photoshop CS2, it seems that it doesn't support my D5000's NEF.
I don't want to spend more on Capture NX.

After almost a week of browsing forums and downloading various softwares and updates, i've finally download the newest Adobe Camera Raw.
I'm going to try this ACR 5.6 with Photoshop CS3.

Hope it's working.

Wish me luck!

PS: all of these softwares and hardwares thingy got me headache...

have you ever grown a horta?

Skhedios bought this for me.

Horta is a kind doll, stuffed with crushed woods and

There's plant seed on its back, as you can see.

Its grass seed, btw.

You just soak it for two hours after you open it from it's plastic wrap

(Wonder why they wrapped it in plastic.

Double plastic, mind you.

It's not really go green.

I hope they think of some other wrapping alternative).

Then you just water it everyday, 7 tablespoon of water.

then on the third day, Potato grow some grass.

(I named it Potato, it looks like one)

And days after, it'll grow taller.

Pretty simple to take care of Potato.

This is how it looks after soaked.

Potato stand on an unused plastic box lid, so he won't wet my desk.

This is how he look after about a week.

Look how tall the grass is.

Skhedios is planning to get another one

for herself, a corn horta.

Let see if she'll manage to grow those corn LOL.
